Background

Introducing Andy Finch, a native of Fresno, CA, with a deep-rooted passion for board sports. Growing up surrounded by lakes, Andy would work the hot summer mornings at his father’s nursery and then hit the lake with a wakeboard, rope, fat-sack, and gas money. By the age of 16, he was already setting up boats, driving, and coaching—a natural on the water. He rode for Blindside wakeboards for three years before focusing entirely on snowboarding.

Transitioning from wakeboarding to snowboarding, Andy embarked on a remarkable 14-year competitive snowboarding career.

Career Accomplishments

His journey culminated in representing the USA at the 2006 Olympic Games with the Halfpipe Team and accumulating numerous national, world, and tour championship titles. Shortly after retiring from snowboarding, he ran The Amazing Race with his fellow Olympian Tommy Czeschin on season 19. After winning six legs that season, Tommy reignited Andy’s passion for wakesurfing. Tommy was a professional wakesurfer for Nautique at the time. He also has the number one selling pro model board, the “Primo,” which is our favorite. After following Tommy to the national championships in Waco, Andy won a national wakesurfing title in his age division. With a captain’s license earned through years of dedication, Andy honed his skills at Tahoe Surf Company for seven years before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey in 2024.

Enter Surf n’ Foil Tahoe – a manifestation of Andy’s love for coaching, sharing the joy of wakesurfing with others, and stretching smiles daily. Foiling has also become a big part of Andy’s life, and he enjoys fast-tracking people on one of the more difficult watersports to learn. He has learned many tricks to shorten the learning curve and do it safely. With boundless enthusiasm, Andy extends a warm invitation to join him in the dynamic journey of harnessing the limitless energy of water!
